Headmaster’s Day Celebration
Headmaster’s Day, Friday, May 9 brought laughter, cheers, and a few tears as the entire school community gathered to celebrate the retirement of 11 long-standing and much-loved faculty and staff members, including: Nancy Ariosa, Mona Barr, Sharon Bradford, George Gebelein ’60, John Grega, Carl Haller, Dave Harley, Wayne Hudson, Larry Johnston, Ed Musil, and Peggy Warner. The program also marked 25 years of service to McDonogh by Archivist Mary Lu Greenwood and Dance Teacher Ilona Kessell. During the morning event it was announced that the 2013 edition of Legacy has been dedicated to Director of Facilities Steve Simmers ‘70. The second half of the ceremony on Childs Memorial Terrace featured the presentation of Upper School academic awards.
