A Devastating Loss; Arrangements for Catie Carnes '10 Set
Catie Carnes '10, who had just begun her freshman year at Mt. St. Mary's University, collapsed yesterday while playing volleyball and passed away shortly thereafter. Catie had been a McDonogh student since kindergarten. She loved life, friends, volleyball, and horseback riding.
Said Headmaster Charlie Britton, "Catie was upbeat, kind, compassionate, and dear to many in our community, and we are devastated by this news. Our focus right now is to support and comfort one another through this tragedy. Our hearts go out to the Carnes family during this very difficult time."
Arrangements for Catie Carnes are as follows: viewing at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, 21204, Monday and Tuesday, September 6 and 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 8 at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church (St. James Academy, 3100 Monkton Road, Monkton, 21111.
