Capt. Mason '02 Speaks at Veterans Day Assembly
In honor of Veterans Day, Captain Rusty Mason '02 addressed Upper School students during an assembly on Thursday, November 11. Mason, who received an ROTC scholarship and trained at Ft. Benning, served in Iraq and is now stationed in Northern Virginia.
Mason recounted his experiences in Iraq, including the devastating Easter Sunday mortar attack when he lost five soldiers in his platoon. He fielded questions from curious students and teachers, and then met with advisory groups to discuss the importance of service to one's country.
