Upper School Theatre Manager Sue Tanury organized the first annual Back-to-School Jam Fest, a McDonogh community kick-off to the school year. The Jam Fest featured classic rock and blues band "Mary Lou and the Untouchables." Students, parents, faculty, and staff enjoyed a tailgate-style picnic. Younger children were entertained with a moonbounce, kiddie tattoos, and face painting.

Jam Fest Draws Hundreds

Jam Fest on September 24 was a hit. By nightfall, kids and parents couldn't resist the urge to groove to the band's classic rock.

Hundreds spread out on blankets and in picnic chairs, enjoying the beat, the summer-like evening, and the opportunity to hang out with friends. Older children ventured over to the outdoor volleyball court by the dorms.

More than 650 signed up for the free event. In addition to the entertainment, Jam Fest included a cookout.
