Moveable Production of Hamlet, October 29 and 30
The Third Annual McDonogh Theatre Lab/Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Residency is proud to announce a "moveable" production of Hamlet by William Shakespeare on Friday and Saturday, October 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. This is an outdoor production. As the cast moves around the grounds of McDonogh, so will the audience, and they will become part of the action.
Tickets are $5 and will be available in the Horn Theatre lobby, where the show will begin. Be sure to dress warmly and to wear comfortable shoes.
The production is the culmination of a two-week intensive program that brings McDonogh students into the world of professional theatre. In addition to rehearsing and performing alongside professional actors, students also enjoy master classes taught by CSC teaching artists, covering a range of topics from textwork, directing, stage combat, and movement.
The partnership between McDonogh School and the Ellicott City-based Chesapeake Shakespeare Company – unique in this area – is a testament to the shared commitment to engineer life-affecting experiences that will prepare each student to be more thoughtful, joyful, and dynamic citizens of the world of which they are a part.
